Leah Burke feasted on four tries as England Women bashed France 64-0 at Warrington.

Burke finished with four scores and Hollie-Mae Dodd a brace in England’s dominant win, the first game for both nations since last year’s World Cup.

The St Helens winger crossed after just two minutes, as her team posted six tries to be ahead 30-0 at half-time at the Halliwell Jones Stadium.

France started poorly, making error after error, and the hosts punished them quickly.

Burke scored again in the eighth minute, followed by Shona Hoyle and Tamzin Renouf.

On 27 minutes winger Eboni Partington touched down on debut, before Tara Jane-Stanley scored.

France struggled to deal with England’s better kicking game, hard-running and efficiency.

Former captain Emily Rudge went off the field in the first half with an unknown injury.

In the second half as the rain came down Dodd crossed in the 42nd and 51st minute, while Burke scored in the 46th and 71st minute.

Sinead Peach burrowed over with 17 minutes left to bring up the half century.

There was still time for Amy Hardcastle to add a final try.

In total, England added another six tries against the out-matched French in the second half to complete the twelve-try rout.

It is believed to be England Women’s record victory victory over France.
