Exclusive: Wakefield Trinity have targeted the signing of Hull FC centre Josh Griffin.

rugbyleaguehub.com Long Reads understands Wakefield are keen to add Griffin to their roster, potentially for this season, if not for 2024.

Trinity are in a fierce battle to avoid relegation.

Griffin is off-contract at the end of this season.

It is believed Black & Whites are open to letting the veteran outside back leave the club.

The centre is 33 and actually started his career back at Wakefield in 2008.

Griffin has scored 95 tries from 221 appearances during his time in Super League.

He has had stints at Huddersfield, Castleford, Batley and Salford.

Griffin joined Hull FC in 2017 and has made over 100 appearances for the club.

He helped the Black & Whites win the Challenge Cup in his first season in east Yorkshire.

The older brother of Tigers prop George, Josh was handed a seven-game ban in June after being sent off in a Challenge Cup tie against St Helens.
