RUGBY League Commercial and IMG are turning up the heat as the attempt to break the 60,000 barrier for the first Ashes Test at Wembley on October 25.
It’s been announced the Ashes will be naming rights sponsors at a giant NRL grand final party in Vauxhall on October 5.
The event is run annually by the Aussies In London expat group and attracts 750 to 1000 people, with a four-hour party in Vauxhall Gardens afterwards.
The group has a mailing list of 11,000.
With the Second Test in Liverpool and the third in Leeds already sold out, there is a hope that plenty of fans from the north travel to see the series open.
But the grand final party marks a significant step up in marketing to the expat community in London.
