NEW South Wales half Mitchell Moses has turned the airwaves blue after his side’s stunning series victory, describing Queensland’s spiritual claims over Origin as “f—in’ bull—“.
The 31-year-old Australia and Lebanon international was in no mood to mince words when approached by Triple M after the upset 30-12 win at Suncorp Stadium.
“We’ve just been bashed as a state – ‘Queensland’s got more pride’,” Moses said. “It’s all fuckin’ bullshit.
“We’ve come down, we’ve shown the fight that we have. We had them coming off their line the whole game, kept scrambling, saving tries.
“… got lucky a few times but that’s footy. We put ourselves in those positions. Yeah, we did it.”
Several NSW players made reference their post-match interviews to withering criticism aimed at their coach Laurie Daley before the match.
“I don’t know if it gets any better,” Moses said.
“Our team’s just been bashed in the media by everyone, coach’s been bashed in the media by his own people as well.
“The only people who were going to change that were the 20 people who went out there and the coaching staff and whoever was in that camp.
“To come out and do it in their own backyard, it doesn’t …. it’s only been done three times. There’s a fourth one.
“It’s massive. It gives everyone hope, you know? We’ve just been bashed as a state.”
Asked him his limp during the match, Moses said:Â “I’ve got the worst cork in the world. I got a knee straight in my quad, the first carry. It was alright, just a bad cork.”
