Huddersfield 14 Bradford 30: One Giant hand on the wooden spoon

IN front of brand new LED hoardings at a stadium they’re leaving, Huddersfield actually looked like getting a win during the first half.

But in sharp contrast to the youth-laden thriller across the Pennines, the Giants rag-tag bunch of veterans and fringe first graders could not take advantage of their opportunities -although the video referee was also not their friend.

Bradford, missing 11 players, almost stumbled into the lead and then stayed there without much effort.

Adam Swift’s two tries briefly gave the home side – who have installed the LED displays to maximise their IMG points despitr their intention to leave Accu Stadium – a two point lead.

But then half Jayden Nikorima crossed in the 29th minute and from then on the Bulls had control of a forgettable contest – securing their first away win since returning to Super League.

The second-last Bulls now have an eight-competition-point lead over the last-placed Giants.

Fijian centre Waqa Blake completed a try brace in the final minute.
