SYDNEY Rooster Victor Radley has spoken after his grand final was placed in jeopardy by a hip drop on England team-mate Herbie Farnworth.
Radley escaped with a penalty after the incident in the 36-20 preliminary final win over Farnworth’s Dolphins at Suncorp Stadium.
“Um, you just reminded me,” he told Triple M.
“Hopefully, mate, it’s just a fine. I didn’t think it was a traditional hip drop. Herbie’s so powerful, he burst through the line and I just held on.”
When coach Trent Robinson was asked if he had any concern, he said: “No – because he went to his knees before there was any weight on that.
“That’s how I saw it so there wasn’t any force on that so I’d say he’d be right on that.”
Radley, meanwhile, was as his mischievous best as he looked ahead to grand final week.
“The first 20 minutes, I was buggered and so was everyone out there. But hey, finals footy, let’s go, one more.”
Radley and Farnworth will then team up in Brian McDermott’s England World Cup side.
