ENGLAND centre Herbie Farnworth’s Ashes involvement is not thought to be in jeopardy after he pulled up with a hamstring injury – but he may not return until the finals.
Dolphin Farnworth pulled up while in the clear, without a hand laid on him, in the first half of the round 22 NRL game against the Warriors at Mt Smart. His side went on to win 20-18.
Farnworth is a key member of the England squad for the eagerly-anticipated Ashes series at the end of the season, with Tests in London, Liverpool and Leeds.
“You could see he was ready to go – he started the game extremely well,” Dolphins coach Kristian Woolf said.
“Obviously it’s a big hit for us.
“It’s obviously a hamstring, it’s going to be some sort of period. How bad it is, we don’t quite know yet.
“It’s not a little strain. It’s going to be – I would have thought – four or six weeks or something like that.”
Winger Jamayne Isaako had to reach be him to take the pass and race 20 metres to score the winning try with just over a minute left.
A massive blow for the Dolphins! Farnworth looks like he has done his hamstring.🤕
