Exclusive: Leeds hooker Jarrod O’Connor is in demand for 2027, with the Rhinos forward receiving interest from NRL clubs and other Super League sides.

O’Connor is contracted to Leeds for this season but is off-contract next year and is allowed to negotiate with other clubs.

rugbyleaguehub.com Long Reads understands the hooker is currently in talks with the Rhinos about a new deal, but also has other admirers hoping to snap him up.

It is believed that at least two NRL clubs have targeted the signature of the 24-year-old, who has made more than 100 appearances for Leeds.

Several Super League clubs are also keen on the free agent. According to sources Warrington Wolves, Catalans Dragons and Castleford Tigers are among several northern hemisphere outfits to have shown interest in O’Connor for next season.

The hooker joined Leeds from Widnes in 2020. The son of former Great Britain international Terry O’Connor, he has featured for the Rhinos both in the back-row and at number 9.

O’Connor was a key member of Brad Arthur’s team in 2025, usurping Andy Ackers for the starting hooking role and making 28 appearances.

Leeds have lost three players to NRL clubs in the past nine months, with Morgan Gannon joining the New Zealand Warriors and James McDonnell and Harry Newman headed to the Perth Bears next year.
