LEEDS fullback Alfie Edgell was reported to be disconsolate after he was forced off seconds into the second half of the Boxing Day win over Wakefield with a quadriceps injury.

Edgell, 21, scored the first try of the Rhinos’ 18-10 win but then limped into a tackle shortly after the break and immediately raised his hand to be replaced.

“We’re going to have to wait and see what the scan results produce with Alfie,” said assistant coach Jamie Langley.

“He’s felt something in his quad, essentially, when he was kicking the ball off.

“He’s a bit down at the minute. You never know until you see the scans these days. They’re that detailed in what they can reveal.

“We’re keeping our fingers crossed but yeah, he definitely felt something when he was kicking off the second half there

“We’ll assess that over the next week or so and see where he’s at.”
