MELBOURNE kingpin Cameron Munster has used the word “complacency” to descibe the recent form of the team who have toppled from premiership favouritism.

After losing coach Craig Bellamy’s 600th career game 44-0 to the Bulldogs last week, they were downed 30-14 by Brisbane on Thursday night to conclude the regular season.

Munster claimed the Storm’s preparation for both matches had been, counter-intuitively, too good.

“We haven’t been up to scratch the last couple of weeks,” Munster told Triple M.

“We’ve had a great preparation … I think sometimes with your preparation you go into games complacent and I think we’ve done that the last couple of weeks.

“We might need something to go against us next week to be honest.”

He later commented at the post-match media conference: “Defensively we have an attitude problem. The last couple of weeks, the attitude stinks.

“We can’t rely on our preparation to get us through a game.”

Halfback Jahrome Hughes is out for the season with a broken arm and prop Nelson Asofa-Solomona was reported for a high shot, adding to coach Craig Bellamy’s woes.
