Bradford Bulls head coach Brian Noble has slammed the lack of detail and information on how Super League will expand as “ridiculous”.

Noble, in his column for Forty20 magazine, has launched a stunning rebuke of the strategic review committee and its method of Super League going to 14 teams next year.

“It’s just another symptom of grotesque leadership that they would give the criteria out for inclusion in an expanded Super League, retract some of it, not give clear instruction of what teams have got to do and how they’ve got to do it to be considered,” he wrote.

“What it does is send sides off in a blind panic to sign anyone and everyone without a clear sense of purpose.

“If it’s about strategy, how can you give five minutes to react for what should be built over five years?

“We’re led to believe teams who aren’t in the top 12 for grading will have to give extra evidence of financial competency and competitiveness.

“How can you possibly do that when you’re not going to know the full, updated picture of who ranks where until October – oh, and by the way, the season starts even earlier next year because of the World Cup.

“Nor is any club going to know what budget they are working to, so how can you sign players that are going to make you competitive?

“Honestly, it’s beyond ridiculous.”
