Exclusive: Perth Bears have set their sights on signing Leeds Rhinos front-rower Mikołaj Olędzki.
rugbyleaguehub.com Long Reads understands that the new NRL side is keen to add Oledzki to their roster for 2027.
Perth has already signed Leeds’ players James McDonnell and Harry Newman and made a play for hooker Jarrod O’Connor, which was unsuccessful.
Now the Bears have targeted the 27-year-old prop.
Oledzki is contracted to the Rhinos until the end of 2028, after signing a three-year extension with the Super League club in January 2025.
But it is believed the England international has an NRL clause in his contract.
It is unclear at this stage if Oledzki is interested in a move to the NRL next year or not.
Born in Gdansk, the forward came through the Leeds academy and made his Super League debut in 2017.
He has made more than 150 appearances for the Rhinos and played four Tests for England.
Perth has only announced 13 player signings so far for their debut season in 2027.
The Bears have snared Melbourne Storm duo Tyran Wishart and Nick Meaney, Josh Curran from the Bulldogs and Liam Henry from Penrith.
They have also added a number of players based in the northern hemisphere, in Catalans duo Toby Sexton and Iszac Fa’asuamaleuai, and London pair Luke Smith and Emarly Bitungane.
