RFL director departs

Exclusive: Another senior figure at the RFL has left the organisation, with its director of people and culture Victoria Sinacola departing.

rugbyleaguehub.com Long Reads understands Sinacola resigned from her role last month.

The RFL has confirmed that she left her position in mid-December, but declined to comment on the reasons for her exit. Sinacola has been approached for comment.

Sinacola, who worked at the RFL for nearly five years, is one of a number of employees who have left the governing body in the past two months.

Andy Wilson, who was the RFL’s head of media, departed at the end of 2025 while Rhianna Burke, the RFL’s senior professional game and medical administrator, has moved to a position with British Cycling this month.

rugbyleaguehub.com Long Reads understands several other staff in events and logistic roles have also recently departed the governing body.

Last year the RFL received multiple anonymous whistleblowing complaints containing historical allegations of sexism and misogyny in the workplace. Sport England also raised concerns about the sport’s governance.

In September, the RFL chief executive Tony Sutton left his post, with Abi Ekoku named as his interim replacement.

Upheaval inside the governing body was reported by this masthead in June. At that stage an insider said on developments at the RFL: “I’m sure some staff will leave.”

The RFL is currently searching for a new CEO and a new chair covering itself, Rugby League Commercial and Super League.
