CANBERRA Ricky Stuart has lambasted the ACT government for failing to upgrade or replace GIO Stadium after Canterbury rival Cameron Ciraldo suffered a cut hand in his coach’s box.

Canterbury hung on to beat the Raiders 14-10 in Stuart’s 300th match with the clipboard but to an extend the result was overshadowed by Ciraldo suffering cuts when the window on his box shattered when he tried to open it.

“Come into our changeroom mate, I thought it was raining in there,” Stuart said when told of the incident.

“There’s no point whinging about it because the people you’ve got to whinge to don’t give a shit.

“The people who make decisions about our stadium don’t care about the stadium. They don’t care about the nation’s capital having a shithouse stadium – that we have.

“That’s why I don’t whinge about it – I don’t care. We’ll just make it up and do what we’ve got to do because they don’t care.

“It’s hard whinging to a person that doesn’t care about the actual outcome of it.”

Ciraldo said: “It’s alright. I’m actually going to get some stitches now.

“There was plenty happening in that last seven minutes. It actually happened when we scored our last try there.

“If I could add my two cents, I think this place … it’s a great place to play, it’s a great atmosphere but it deserves an upgrade.

“You can’t have stuff like that happening.

“It was quite foggy. We couldn’t see what was happening. So we’ve tried to open the window and the whole window’s smashed on us.

“There’s glass all over us.
