RUGBY Football League officials have reported an extremely strong start to ticket sales for Magic Weekend, which will next year be staged at Liverpool’s Hill Dickinson Stadium for the first time.
Some 10,000 tickets to the event had been sold just one hour and 45 minutes after they went on sale.
Magic Weekend will be staged on July 4 and 5 for British clubs, while Catalans and Toulouse will play in France at a neutral venue to be determined.
The French clubs opened talks about a time slot and venue when they met in Carcassonne last Friday.
This morning’s sales were not to the general public but to club season ticket holders, fans who pre-registered and those interested in hospitality.
In the NRL, Magic Round is at Suncorp Stadium on May 14-17.
