PAUL Vaughan all but admitted he is in advanced negotiatons to extend his stay with Warrington Wolves into the 2026 Betfred Super League season.
The former Australia international prop joined the Wolves from Canterbury Bulldogs on an initial two-year contract ahead of the 2023 campaign and signed on until at least November 2025 in April of that year.
Warrington head coach Sam Burgess has made no secret of his desire to retain the 34-year-old beyond this year, and while Vaughan was evasive about the specifics he hinted negotiations over a new contract are at an advanced stage.

“I haven’t signed it,” Vaughan told Sky Sports’ The Bench podcast.
“Myself and my family are looking to see what’s about.
“There could be a contract on the table, I’m just yet to sign it, that’s all.”
Vaughan made such an immediate impact for the Wolves that he was their only player included in the 2023 Super League Dream Team after they finished 11th.
The six-time New South Wales State of Origin representative has not been quite as dominant a present in the front row for Warrington since then, but is still an important member of the squad.
Vaughan, whose try against Leigh Leopards in May’s semi-final helped book his side’s place in this Saturday’s Betfred Challenge Cup final, believes he still had plenty to offer on the playing side as well.
“I just turned 34 and feel great, so we’ll see what happens,” Vaughan said.
“We’re trying to work through something at the moment.
“Physically, I still feel like I’m doing a fair job on the field.”
