TOWERING Melbourne prop Nelson Asofa-Solomona left his finals fate in the hands of God before claiming his height in defence after he was reported in the loss to Brisbane.

The New Zealand Test star’s play-offs campaign is in the balance after he caught Ben Talty high while the Bronco was held in a Storm tackle during the 30-14 home team win at Suncorp Stadium.

He has a number of similar indiscretions on his recent record.

“We’ll leave it up to God, bro,” Asofa-Solomona said when asked on ABC radio how he felt about the incident and his chances of escaping suspension.

“It’s his will, whatever happens. I might have to chop off my legs, I reckon. It’s tough for us tall blokes. Obviously you’re going there trying to make a tackle. I’m six foot seven. It’s a fair way down but, ah, time will tell.”

Talty did his best to defend his rival when interviewed on Triple M, saying jokingly: “God it’s unfair, isn’t it?

“I don’t know what you do there. You’ve just got to throw yourself in front of him. Most of the time you come off second best but look, I’m alright.

“It mainly got my shoulder and everything. It didn’t really get my head so I’m pretty sweet to go next week.”

Storm coach Craig Bellamy said of the incident: “I’m not sure what’s going to happen but it’s disappointing, it’s disappointing.”
