JAKE Arthur relished getting one over on father Brad as Hull FC snapped their losing run against Leeds Rhinos in Super League.
Sunday’s 24-16 win at the MKM Stadium saw the Black and Whites end a run of four consecutive defeats in all competitions after beginning the league campaign with a 27-20 win over the Rhinos’ West Yorkshire rivals Bradford Bulls.
It also gave halfback Arthur the family bragging rights over the Leeds head coach as he tasted Super League victory for the first time in a Hull FC shirt, having missed that round one success against Bradford due to injury.

“It’s definitely good to get one back on him because he’s beaten me the last couple of times,” Arthur, who hailed the significance of the result for the team as well, told BBC Radio Humberside.
“That was an important one for us and I’m just proud of the boys.
“That’s my first [Super League] win here and to do it in front of the home crowd is unbelievable. I’ve never really had a feeling like that after a game before.
“You don’t really get the singing and stuff like that in Australia, so to have Old Faithful being sung was unbelievable.”
Arthur’s day was capped by him scoring his first Super League try for the club and he admitted his previous performances had not be up to the standard he expects of himself.
Nevertheless, the 23-year-old is enjoying life at Hull FC after moving from NRL outfit Newcastle Knights on a two-year contract during the off-season.
“I think on the field, my last couple of games hadn’t been the best,” Arthur said.
“I think it was just getting used to the style we’ve been playing and I didn’t have many reps with [Aidan Sezer] in the spine, but there’s plenty to build off.
“Off the field, I’m really enjoying it – I’m loving it. There is a really tight-knit group of boys here, every day off, everyone is hanging out and doing stuff.
“Everyone loves coming to training, no matter winning or losing. Everybody loves being around each other, so that’s made it really easy.”
