PREMIERS Brisbane need to win every remaining regular season game to keep their title defence alive into September – and veteran half Adam Reynolds says they can do it.
Going into Saturday’s derby against North Queensland at Suncorp Stadium, the Broncos are 13th with six wins and 11 losses. Nothing less than a perfect record or a near-miracle will get them into the finals.
“We believe we’ve got the team to do it, albeit we haven’t played our best football this season,” Reynolds, 36, told Triple M.
“Quite obviously we haven’t. There’s been patches there.
“It’s exciting. It’s an opportunity for us to do something that no-one believes we can do.
“Within the group, there’s so much belief, fight and hunger and you see that (against Penrith).”
The Broncos stunned the Panthers 14-12 at CommBank Stadium last Thursday.
Reynolds – retiring when the Broncos’ season ends – copped a minor ankle injury but played on, saying: “I feel good, I feel really good
“I’ve had a good few weeks with the physios and what-not in the background, they’ve been working extremely hard to get myself right.
“I know it’s coming to an end so I want to make the most of it and go out fighting.”
