WARRINGTON captain George Williams blasted his players under the posts after they conceded two late tries in a 34-28 win away to world champions Hull KR.
In his second game back from a neck injury, the England captan was man of the match, scoring a crucial try in a result that lifted the Wire into League Leaders Shield contention.
“I spoke to the lads behind the posts – we conceded two late tries,” the 31-year-old told Sky Sports.
“If we want to be a champion team, champion teams don’t concede them.
“That keeps us on our toes. Let’s be positive, we got got a great win tonight but if we’re serious about doing something serious we need to not let in tries at the end.”
As we’ve reported by us earlier, Mikey Lewis was sent to the sin bin in his first game back from suspension for taking out a kicker and could face another ban.
“(I’d) just put my arm around him,” Williams said of his rival.
“When you speak to him, he’s actually a nice lad. He’s not how he plays. I love the way he plays. He’s competitive. He competes for everything.
“Sometimes it’s a fine line. At the minute he’s getting it wrong.
“We all know at his best he’s one of the best players in our comp. When he plays at his best, he’s one of the best.
“I’m sure he’s doing lots of work on himself. He wouldn’t like what happened tonight.”
Interchange forward Tevita Pangai Junior is in the same boat as Lewis for a swinging arm on James Bentley.
Warrington will be without Josh Thewlis (hamstring) and Toff Sipley (ankle) this weekend against Huddersfield.
