WAKEFIELD Trinity moved into outright second on the Super League table with a tough win over Bradford in which they finished with a wet sail.
Trinity are arguably the form team in Super League but they were given more than a battle by the newly promoted Bulls before winning 26-12.
Wigan are at short odds to reclaim second when they play Huddersfield tomorrow night.
Winger Tom Johnstone scored the first try of the match after only one minute when the kick-off was fumbled by Bradford.
But right on 20 minutes the Bulls hit back with a touchdown to Ireland winger Ethan Ryan, who would later be sent to the sin bin for taking out an opponent off the ball.
It was during his absence that centre Will Tate moved Wakefield to 8-4 in front – 10-4 with Josh Rourke’s conversion.
Right on halftime, Luke Hooley narrowed the margin to four with a penalty goal.
Jay Pitts posted a 43rd minute try which was worryingly soft for Wakefield but Bradford kept coming and it took a fumble behind his own line by Caleb Aekins to give the visitors a match-winning lead.
Aekins lost the ball behind him and fullbakc Rourke won the scramble for the ball by a millisecond, the try confirmed by the video referee.
