IN A startling Instagram post, Elijah Taylor has warned his former New Zealand team-mate Roger Tuivasa-Sheck AGAINST coming to Super League, including allegations of widespread doping.
The celebrated dual international known as RTS is widely reported to have agreed to terms with Wakefield for at least next season.
But Taylor, who played for Salford, Featherstone and Oldham who have all encountered serious off-field problems, gave three reasons his mate should not come – and the third is a claim that “a lot of the boys” in British competitions are using performance enhancing drugs.
Taylor said: “Don’t do it, cuzzy. Roger, don’t do it, cuzzy.
“Three reasons not to go to the Super League from the NRL:
“Number one, there is no RLPA. You won’t realise how much the RLPA do for the NRL players until you get to the Super League.
“And there’s no retirement account, $13,000 a year. There’s no education allowance, $7,000 a year that you get in the NRL.
“Bro, there’s no voice at the table for CBA (Collective Bargaining Agreement), TV deal negotiations. It’s crazy, bro.
“Number two, player welfare. If you don’t get paid, no one’s coming to save you, cuz. Sorry, bro. Look what happened at Salford.
“If you don’t get paid. No one’s coming to save you cuz. Sorry bro.
“All the boys that left Salford last year … they weren’t getting paid. Super League weren’t going to top them up with their salaries.
“And scheduling. One time on an Easter weekendwe played five games in the space of 14 days.
“There is no player welfare.
“Number three. It’s an uneven playing field. Why do I say that? Lad. A lot of boys are on the game.
“I don’t care what you think. I know what I know. And I heard what I heard. A lot of boys that are on the secret sauce. Peppies (Peptides) or growth (Human Growth Hormone) , what you think?
“I was in the Super League for three years. I got drug tested once in three years, bro. Eh?
“Those are three reasons why I don’t recommend a player leave the NRL to go to the Super League. Good luck, lad.”
