LEEDS Rhinos and England centre Harry Newman has joined Hull FC on an initial one-week loan.
Newman has joined up with his new team-mates and has been included in John Cartwright’s 21-man squad to face St. Helens at the MKM Stadium on Thursday night.
It is well-known that the Airlie Birds are suffering from an extensive injury list which has had Arthur Romano added to it for the long-term, necessitating Hull to move into the loan market.
A short statement on the Black and Whites website and social media platforms said: “Hull FC are pleased to announce that Harry Newman has joined the club on loan.
“Then centre has joined the club from Leeds Rhinos on a one-week loan.
“The 26-year-old England international, who has over 150 senior appearances under his belt, arrives from AMT Headingley to add depth to Hull’s backs with the Black and Whites currently experiencing an extensive injury list.”
NRL-bound Newman has been out of favour for the West Yorkshire outfit for the last few weeks, ironically he last played in the Rhinos recent defeat at the MKM Stadium.
With Romano definitely out for the next eight to 12 weeks, it remains to be seen if the Airlie Birds and the Rhinos will come to any further agreement to extend his stay should that need arise.
