MANLY remained in the race for a finals berth with a more-than-comfortable home romp against St George Illawarra, Jason Saab and Lehi Hopoate scoring try braces.
The Dragons were never really at the races, trailing 26-0 at halftime and getting a couple of consolation tries late-on at 4 Pines Park.
Kieran Foran’s side lies 10th in the competition and needs a number of results to go their way to make the finals but faced little opposition in their 44-10 victory.
The match was played in the presence of the Sea Eagles’ 1996 premiership side.
“We just wanted to show up tonight – it’s about where Foz (Foran) wants to take the club and the team and build for next year,” said goal-kicking centre Reuben Garrick, who was playing his has home game before joining Sydney Roosters next year.
Speaking on Triple M, he added: “…but at the same time, build on your footy and effort for your team-mates and that’s what we did tonight.
“That’s all you can do. You leave it up to the mathematicians and the other teams to have to perform and we did that.”
