rugbyleaguehub.com: Does this game feel like a responsibility?
James Batchelor: “Yeah I suppose there is a bit of a responsibility about it. We haven’t had too much time to think about it up to this point because of pre-season and the start of the season. But at this point you can start thinking about it more deeply and things like that do help your motivation. So I suppose when you do think about it. There is probably that responsibility about it and that’s a good thing.”
RLH: Could the British weather be an advantage, like the French teams use it against English clubs in Super League?
JB: “I suppose you never know. It’s something you’d have to ask them: are they bothered about it? Some of them were over here in the Autumn so they maybe got a sense of it then but it’s not something I’m going to be relying on.”
RLH: How strange – but important – is the capacity crowd going to be?
JB: “It’s definitely a strange thought but I’m sure when game day comes the supporters will do what they always do and get behind the boys and make it feel like home and make us feel like we’ve got that backing. They’re a special group of supporters and I’m glad we’ve got 24 or 25,000 of them behind us.”
