SYDNEY Roosters run up the third-biggest score in Premiership history – and the highest of the NRL era – as North Queensland were humiliated at home.
The tricolours’ 82-12 massacre at Queensland Country Bank Stadium was the Cowboys’ worst-ever loss – and most points conceded – and the Sydney Roosters’ second-biggest win.
Halfback Sam Walker’s 36 points was an NRL-era record for the Roosters and third overall, putting him only behind the great Dave Brown.
The 48 points scored by the Roosters in the first half was the equal-most in Premiership history, alongside Newcastle’s tally against North Queensland in 2003.
Cody Ramsay taking over the goalkicking cost Walker overtaking his own effort of 12 in a match, set in 2022 against Wests Tigers which put him second behind Brown in club records with 15 against Canterbury in 1935.
The Premiership’s biggest score is 91 by St George against Canterbury in 1935, followed by 87 by the Roosters, also against Canterbury in 1935.
North Queensland’s previous biggest losing margin was 62, incurred on three occasions.
