Salford coach Paul Rowley believes the sky is the limit for his side after they knocked off Leeds to notch their fourth win in a row and move four points below top.
Salford proved too strong for the Rhinos, with Marc Sneyd kicking five from five in a the 22-10 win.
The Red Devils now have 14 points in fifth, while league leaders Warrington have 18.
“It’s an excellent victory,” Rowley said.Â
“It’s always wonderful to come to Leeds, it’s always a challenge. In the first half we were very very disciplined with the ball and our defensive appetite was fantastic.
“Our team needed discipline, resilience, fortiture and a real spirit about them, and I thought we fully deserved our win.
“We work hard, and that’s probably the difference [compared with last year]. To be getting the wins that weve got, while we keep our feet on the ground, we can enjoy it.”
Asked what the Red Devils can achieve this year, Rowley at first declined to comment but then said: “We just want to keep enjoying playing. We want to keep improving and performing and evolving… We can achieve anything, that’s sport. We’ve got a really good group of players and staff.”
Rowley admitted his concern for Ryan Brierley, who came from the field and suffered an eye injury during the match.
“Ryan passed his HIA, but he got a scratch to his eye,” he said.Â
“That’s quite a concern. It’s not looking too good to be honest.”
